Haruki's weird brother now has a fresh look with clean/shaved face and clean/ironed clothes. However, his mind is far from fresh.

That Motoko became a free woman is big news. Motoko is the central figure in her press conference with many reporters and photographers.
Chikura who was wounded in a fire, and made a statement in Motoko's trial that she had not started the fire, still chases Motoko. He calls her cell many times and leaves messages. However, he receives no reply.
In a party to celebrate Motoko's not-guilty verdict, Motoko meets Izumi. As she never knew Haruki was engaged to be married, Motoko is in great shock.
Motoko happens to answer a call on her cell. The call is from Chikura. Chikura expected to hear kind words from his "lover", Motoko. However, Motoko speaks to him in a cold manner. She politely thanks him for everything he did for her, and hopes that he'll get better physically and go back to his family. The end of their phone conversation...
Now Chikura realizes he was deceived and swindled. He screams he wants to die. His wife runs to him.
Motoko sneaks out of her hotel room and goes missing.
Izumi, Haruki's fiance goes to Haruki's house. There, she meets Katsuki, Haruki's older brother. Katsuki is posessed with jealousy for Haruki as he thinks Haruki is smarter, and receives more attention and love from their parents.
Katsuki tells Izumi about Haruki's relationship with Motoko, that she was his first love and the first person to have sex with. He also tells her that he hates her as she smiles like the sun, and that he wants to see Haruki and her suffer. He predicts that Haruki will leave her and goes to Motoko.
In the next trial in appeal court, he is going to tell an "inappropriate reationship" between Haruki and Motoko as a lawyer and client so that it will be the end of Haruki's career.
Katsuki finds Motoko on a beach not far from his house. Izumi who happened to be walking nearby sees Katsuki and Motoko on the beach. She follows them to a hotel bar where Motoko admits she never really forgot about or got over him.
Motoko and Haruki go into a hotel room. They hug and kiss. Haruki admits he loves her. When Motoko tries to kiss him, he stops her and asks her, "Do I really know everything about you?" He tells her that Chikura saw her smoking a cigarette and tossing it on the floor on the night of the fire. He asks her if she really had no intention to kill him.
Izumi receives a phone call, and she hurries to her hospital as Chikura jumped off the roof.
