Petero no Souretsu Ep.6

Things are getting a little clearer, and we are beginning to see the connections among them.
The Original Novel by Miyabe Miyuki
 (spoiler)
Before waiting for the end of his daughter's concert, Sugimura leaves his wife at the concert hall to meet the late Detective's wife, Adachi who is wanted by the police for murdering Takakoshi, the con man, and Takakoshi's pregnant wife.
Takokoshi's wife confesses that she killed her husband, and starts to tell her story:

She met Takakoshi when she worked in a bar.  She didn't care for him that much, but they lived together and she got pregnant. Takakoshi seemed to care for their baby.  Knowing that Takoshi is a conman stealing money by lying, she tried to leave him.  Takakoshi told her that he would never let her go, and she thought it's better to die with the baby.  So she was going to kill her self.  Takakoshi tried to stop her suicide by taking away the knife in her hand, and got stabbed by her by mistake.  Takakoshi didn't want his baby to become a murderer's child so that he went out to see Adachi to make it look like Adachi stabbed him.

Takakoshi and wife
Takokoshi's wife's parents died by suicide when she was a second year student in grade school.  They killed themselves because they were deceived by a conman and lost all their money.  After reading the report given to her by Adachi (= the report written by the detective), she couldn't forgive Adachi.

Although it made her feel good to receive sympathy from other people as a pitiful pregnant wife whose husband was murdered, she couldn't bear telling lies to other people and wanted to be an honest mother of her baby.  She felt she was deceiving people by her lies just like Takakoshi did.  So she came to see Adachi to stop lying and say sorry.

Adachi also feels sorry for giving her the report and revealing the truth to her.  He regrets for not having killed Adachi earlier.

Although the editor-in-chief at Sugimura's office, seemed not to receive money from the bus-jacker, the money was sent and she goes to a delivery company office to receive it.  It was 3 million Yen, the same amount as Sugimura's and his coleague's.

As for Sugimura's wife, she's not too happy that her husband is playing a detective and even leaves their daughter's piano concert in the middle.  She complains that to Mano Kyouko who works at Sugimura's office.  Mano's replay was, "If you don't want him, shall I have him, instead?"

Ide, the guy who sexually harassed Mano Kyouko is now suing Sugimura for "power harassment" for blaming him for something he didn't do.

Hostage get together
The hostages of the bus-jack get together again to decide what to do with the money.  This time the old woman who didn't come to the previous get-together sends her daughter.

the daughter
She tells that her mother is suffering from dementia.  Some years ago her mother lost 10 million yen due to a pyramid scheme.  The organization who ran the scheme was Nisshou Frontier.  It was the organization for which the bus-jacker and those three people the bus-jacker called as "very bad people" worked.

The daughter tells the former-hostages that she intends to keep the money she received from the late bus-jacker, and suggests the others to do the same.  When she received the money, she thought it was sent by that "kind man".  She and her mother knew the bus-jacker before the bus jacking.  Sugimura asks how they got to know him.  She answers, "If I tell you that, will you please keep your money?"
