Petero no Souretsu Ep.4

 This week, we know more about the editor-in-chief, which explains her devastation after the bus jack.  We still don't know how things and people we see in this drama are connected.

Our guy Sugimura (played by Koizumi Koutarou) goes to see his father-in-law CEO Imada (Hira Mikijirou) for a talk.  From him Sugimura learns about the mysterious connection between the bus-jacker and the chief editor. 

The CEO knows all

According to Imada, the bus jacker's real name is not the one as people know now, and he is a trainer of "perosonal-development (motivational) seminar" which was popular in 1960s and 70s among business companies.  

He then tells that the chief editor joined one of those seminars, and because she was so stubborn that she ended up committing a suicide.  

Mr. and Mrs. Sugimura

Following the CEO's advice, Sugimura tells his wife that he's been trying to find out what is behind the bus jack.  Although she does not tell him to stop, it is obvious that she doesn't like her husband acting like a detective.

Mano and Ide

At Sugimura's office, Ide, a male editor, is harassing the mysterious woman Mano Kyouko (Hasegawa Kyouko).  She was a masseur for Sugimura's wife, but nobody knows what she did or where she was before that.

One day, the CEO goes to see the chief editor.  He says to her, "You stay the way you are," and smiles at her.  She smiles back.  This incident gave her courage to get back to her work and life.  Obviously there's a strong bond between the CEO and the chief editor, but we can't tell whether the chief editor was CEO's mistress as rumored or it's something else. 

Sugimura and Ide

 In the previous episode, Adachi, a newspaper delivery guy handed Mrs. Takakoshi a confidential report on her husband and asked her to read the report.  In that report, Takakoshi was named as a con man involved in several scamming incidents and made billions of Yen.  The report was written by Kitami, a personal investigator.

In this episode, Adachi seems to have killed Takakoshi and is on the run.  And our guy, Sugimura happens to meet him at the grave of P.I. Kitami.   (I am not sure how Sugimura knows Kitami.)  

The link between Adachi, Takoshi, and Takoshi's wife will be clear in the next episode, I'm sure.
