People have different ideas about who is doing "kazoku gari (family hunting)". They all look suspicious.

The police arrive at the scene of the family suicide/murder. The art teacher and the case worker upset the police as they touched and moved the dead bodies. Mamihara, the corrupt detective also comes to the scene and take the art teacher to the police station.
There, the art teacher tells Mamihara that this can't be a family suicide case. Since the boy was going to contact the teacher on that day, he can't kill himself. Mamihara agrees that the family was murdered. He says it was done by Hizaki Yu'uko, the case worker.
Mamihara's colleagues, on the other hand, think Mamihara is the murderer. Mamihara's partner, another police detective, is watching his move.

While the media is after this family suicide, the high school where the art teacher works tries to stay from the case. Teachers and students were told not to go to the family's funeral.

The art teacher goes to the funeral and sees Yoshizawa Ai, the girl who lied that she was raped by the teacher and stabbed her father there. Cameras and reporter gather around her, asking questions about the boy.

As for the corrupt detective's lover, her son is kidnapped by the Yakuza husband. The boy tells his father that he wants to go back home to see his mom. The father snaps and hits the boy. The boy falls down the stairs and is covered by blood.
The art teacher is not sure whether he should trust the case worker. He stops answering the phone or the message from her. Getting encouragement from Suzuki Keitoku, his former student, now a friend, the teacher teacher decides to face the case worker.

The case worker reveals the truth to the art teacher that the mother of the boy died in front of her. When she died, she asked the case worker not to bother by calling an ambulance. The mother wanted to end everything and go away. The case worker felt it's okay to let her die.
The art teacher disagrees. He thinks nobody should end his/her life even he/she was in a very difficult situations. If a person lives, there will be times when he/she feels happy to be alive. So he/she must continue to live. His talk makes the case worker think "continue living" is the answer for her for now.
The case worker's house have termites. Two guys come to their house to check and make an estimate for the control. One of the guys is the father who abused his daughter physically. The case worker was in charge of their case and made them separate. The girl now lives in an institution. The father holds a grudge against the case worker. Although the case worker still doesn't know, the father knows it is the case worker's house.
