The Way We Were (16個夏天); Not Redford and Streisand

A new Taiwanese drama started.  The original title is 16個夏天 (16 summers) while the English title is The Way We Were.  It is supposed to cover 5 individuals (3 men and 2 women) for 16 years; from 1998 to 2014.  In the first episode shown last Sat, our guys and gals were college kids in 1998.

Like other t-dramas, it's about 70 minutes long and one episode is shown every week.  However, this is supposed to have only 15 episodes.  So this is going to be short and concise.

Teaser

(Spoiler)

In the first episode it was 1998 and our guys and gals were college students.  The main girl Jia-Ni (played by Ruby Lin), who struggles to make ends meet by part-time work, finds out that her live-in boyfriend was cheating.  After setting up a revenge affair (one night stand) of her own, she kicks him out.

Her new neighbor Wei-De (Leroy Young) is the man with whom Jia-ni had the one night stand.  Nothing physically happened during that night, though.  Wei-De is a playboy, going out with several girls.

Rui-Rui (Tiffany Hsu) is Jia-ni's best friend who has a crush on Jung-Jie (Melvin Sia), but this guy does not see her because he likes Jia-Ni.

The first episode introduced the main characters and the drama setting.  The story went smoothly and fast.  It had a nice feel.  My only complaint is that our guys and gals looked too old for college students.

This is going to be my weekend drama to watch.
