Kazoku Gari Ep.3

The story is proceeding, but it's still not clear how people are related to one another or how the "family hunting" homicides relate to those people.

(Spoiler)

The detective (Mamihara Kouki) turns out to be a corrupt one, taking money from yakuzas in exchange for police info.  He's not doing it for the money, but to protect his loved one (Fuyushima Ayame) from her abusive husband who just got out of prison.  The husband is a bad, bad guy and already knows about his wife's affairs as well as the detective's family.

The child-welfare worker (Hizaki Yuko) saves a girl from her abusive father.  However, it turns out that the father loses his job, destroying the father-daughter family.

At home, Yuko's mother pays 10 million yen to have her husband stay in a nursing home in Hokkaido.  The whole operation was a scam and she ends up losing her house and the money.  She has to continue taking care of her husband who suffers from dimentia.

The art teacher (Sudou Shunsuke) refuses to marry his girlfriend (Kiyo'oka Miho) who is pregnant with his baby and wants to start a family with him.

This week no one died.  The drama just focused on the main characters, and showed that what connected the three murder cases was a hot-line (free phone consultation) for troubled families where Hizaki Yuko works as a volunteer counselor.

We'll see how the story goes next week.
