"Operation N" was to save Nobara Apartment. This week "Operation N No. 2" is starting.
In 2014, those who were at the murder scene in Noguchi's apartment are reunited.
It's still not clear who killed whom. According to the official reports, Mr. Noguchi killed his wife because he became angry about her extramarital affair and Nishizaki killed Mr. Noguchi to protect Mrs. Noguchi, his lover. Is it really true? Who is or who are the real killer(s)?

2014 in Sugishita Nozomi's apartment.
Sugishita tells Takano that she has a terminal cancer and has only a year to live. She, then, starts telling what she saw on the night of the murder....
Sugishita arrived at Noguchi's place before Andou Nozomi to give suggestions to Mr. Noguchi how to win his Japanese chess game against Andou. Although she has been helping Noguchi win chess games, she feels a little frustrated this time to make Andou a loser again.
Noguchi gets a phone call from Andou, and makes Andou wait in the lounge on the top floor of his apartment. Noguchi leaves to go and see Andou.
Being left alone in Noguchi's den, Sugishita hears a big noise from the living room. She goes inside and sees Nishizaki Makoto holding a candle stand (which was used to kill Noguchi Takahiro)
That was all Sugishita saw.
After Takano leaves her apartment, Sugishita looks at a ring given to her by Andou.

Andou admits he was going to give the ring and ask her to marry him 10 years ago. Ever since then he had girlfriends, but he never wanted to marry with any of them. Sugishita also admits she doesn't want to marry anybody now.
Andou realizes Sugishita still has somebody in her heart and how far apart Sugishita and himself are. He tells Sugishita to keep the ring any way as she might change her mind 3 years or 5 years from now.
2004.
Noguchi tells Sugishita and Andou that his wife just had a miscarriage and has been mentally unstable. The other day she went outside with barefeet and tried to make her run over by a car. He explains that he locks his wife in the apartment to "keep her safe".
At Nobara Apartment, Nishizaki eavesdrops a conversation between two Nozomis and learn that Mrs. Noguchi had a miscarriage and is confined in the apartment by her husband.
Nishizaki admits to Sugishita that he has been having a love affair with Mrs. Noguchi. He tells her that Mrs. Noguchi has been physically abused by her husband, and asks Sugishita to rescue Mrs. Noguch. Sugishita rejects his request saying she doesn't want to get involved in somebody else's family affair and she she never really liked Mrs. Noguchi any way.
Mrs. Noguchi sends an email message to Nishizaki. She tells him she's been scared and wants to see him.
Sugishita is accepted by an construction firm. She is going to work in the firm after graduating from college in spring.
Sugishita and Naruse Shinji receive invitations to a wedding of their friends from Aokage Jima and both decide to attend the wedding. On the ferry to the island, Sugishita meets Naruse.
At the wedding banquet, Sugishita learns that Naruse works at an expensive restaurant in Tokyo. It was the restaurant Mr. Noguchi proposed her wife to marry him, and they frequented the restaurant ever since.
After the banquet, the two go to the observation deck that they often went during their high school days. Naruse tells Sugishita what he has been doing in Tokyo that he got involved in a scam group, quit school and now works at a restaurant mostly on their catering service.
Naruse apologizes to Sugishita for not taking the full advantage of the scholarship. He has been feeling he took the scholarship away from her. Sugishita tells him not to feel sorry because her father, how evil he may be, agreed to pay for her college.
After coming back to Tokyo, Sugishita goes to see Mrs. Noguchi, but she was stopped by the security guys in the lobby.
Nishizaki asks Sugishita again to rescue Mrs. Noguchi, but Sugishita tells him it is impossible as the security is very tight at their apartment building. Nishizaki tells her that his mother died from fire incident, and that he may have been able to rescue her but he didn't. This time he wants to rescue Mrs. Noguchi.
Naruse comes to Sugishita's apartment for a visit. Nishizaki forces himself into their room. Knowing Naruse works for catering service, Nishizaki tries to have Naruse help him rescue Mrs. Nogushi. He calls it "Operation N No.2".
2014.
Takano and his wife go to Aokage Jima. At a cemetery they meet Naruse Shinji after so many years.
Sugishita Nozomi goes to Nobara Apartment. There she meets Nishizaki Makoto after so many years.
