Kazoku Gari Ep.2

Kazoku Gari remains dark and mysterious.  I still can't figure out how and where the story is going.  

In this episode, no more families were killed or hunted.  So, "Family Hunt" occurred in 3 places in Tokyo; O'omori, Akabane, and Setagaya.  Main characters and families are becoming clear.

the detective

The detective who smelled homicide, keeps insisting these are serial murders, not family suicides.  Even though the police decided to regard the Setagaya case as family suicides, they find the common denominator of the three families through the members' cellphone address books.  It was a phone number but under three different women's name.  In fact, the number belonged to the child welfare office case-worker.

Aside from the "Family Hunt", the drama focused the detective's and case-workers families, and the art teacher and his relationship with his girlfriend.  

Because he was workholic and didn't care for his own family, the detective's son died and his daughter became delinquent.  His wife stayed in a mental hospital.  In this episode, she got out of the hospital.  The daughter who's now married offered to take her mother in, but the mother refused and went back to her husband's place.

The case-worker lives with her mother and father.  Her father is suffering from dementia and requires constant care.  If nobody is watching him, he pees in his room and goes out of the house unable to come back.  The mother is physically and emotionally exhausted from his care, and is thinking about putting him in a nursing care home.

the art teacher

The art teacher made his girlfriend pregnant.  She forces him to marry her, but he's not so willing.
