This is a special drama which was broadcasted on two nights. It is made up of 2 episodes lasting nearly 6 hours.
The original story by Agatha Christie is all too famous. The scripts of this drama were written by Mitani Kouki who did a great job making a Japanese version of the story --- The murder takes place in 1933 on a express train from Shimonoseki (Yamaguchi Prefecture) to Tokyo. The detective who solves the puzzle is Suguro Takeru (played by Nomura Mansai).
The first episode is about the murder on the train, and everybody already knows who the culprits are. I liked the second episode as it includes the five years before the murder. It shows how the culprits got together one by one, made the murder plan and execute it. Unique personality of each culprit is also shown on the second episode.
The casts include
Sawamura Kazuki
Nomura Mansei
Satou Kouichi
Fuji Sumiko
Tamaki Hiroshi
Anne
Kusabue Mitsuko
Ikematsu Sousuke
Fujimoto Takahiro
Kobayashi Takashi
Ninomiya Kazuya
Aoki Sayaka

I didn't think I would enjoy watching such a long drama, knowing the whole story. However, I enjoyed it very much. Mitani Kouki did a good job turning the story into a Japanese one and using such great actors and actresses.
It is fun to watch this drama!!
